Fashion Accessories Buyer

Job Description

Our client is looking for a creative and trend-focused Fashion Accessories Buyer to join their buying and product development team. The role involves sourcing, developing, and managing seasonal product ranges across accessories, beauty, gifting, and kids’ categories.

  • Location: Sandton, Johannesburg
  • Salary: R30 000 - R35 000 CTC

Responsibilities

  • Research fashion trends, colours, themes, and materials for local and export markets.
  • Develop seasonal range plans in collaboration with design, sales, and planning teams.
  • Brief and manage international suppliers and factories.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to maintain trend leadership.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Track supplier performance and maintain updated costings.
  • Work with logistics to ensure on-time delivery of seasonal launches.
  • Raise purchase orders and monitor order progress with merchandising and imports teams.
  • Analyse sales and stock performance to identify opportunities.
  • Collaborate with retail buyers to drive balanced assortments.
  • Work with marketing and merchandising teams on promotions.
  • Present product performance insights in weekly sales meetings.
  • Provide product knowledge support internally.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Fashion Buying, Retail Management, or Business.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in buying or product development (fashion, accessories, or kidswear).
  • Experience in FMCG or mass retail is advantageous.
  • Experience working with international suppliers (China/Far East preferred).
